Two Anna Residents Indicted for Delivery of Cannabis

 

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Nelson A. Diaz (DOB 11-27-1956) and Patsy A. Diaz (DOB 06-29-1955), both of 513 South Street in Anna, were indicted on Wednesday June 9 by a Union County Grand Jury – each on three (3) counts of Delivery of Cannabis, two (2) counts being Class 3 Felonies and one (1) count being a Class 4 Felony, and on one (1) count of Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Distribute, a Class 3 Felony.  Nelson and Patsy Diaz are alleged to have sold cannabis from the South Street residence on multiple occasions during the month of May 2011.

 

Nelson and Patsy Diaz were arrested on May 25, 2011 as the Union County Sheriff’s Office and US Marshals Service executed a search warrant and arrest warrants at the South Street residence.

 

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
