Man Charged in Connection with Multiple Fires in Ware

 

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds and Union County Sheriff David Livesay announced today that Corey E. Iman (DOB 03-21-1993) of 45 Elm Street in Ware has been charged in connection with arson in connection with five (5) separate fires in Ware during the months of January and March 2012.  Iman is charged with three (3) counts of Aggravated Arson, all Class X Felonies, one (1) count of Residential Arson, a Class 1 Felony, and one (1) count of Arson, a Class 2 Felony.

 

Iman was arrested on the afternoon of March 28, 2012 following an investigation by Illinois State Police and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.  Iman is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail on $250,000 bond.  He is set for a first appearance on Thursday March 28, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

 

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
