Five Anna Residents Charged with Methamphetamine Production

 

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that methamphetamine charges have been filed against five (5) Anna residents:

 

Brett A. Crunk (DOB 4-15-1970) of 119 George Street in Anna

 

Charles J. Brimm (DOB 4-23-1987) of 201 George Street in Anna

 

Travis Farris (DOB 9-16-1987) of 161 Hillside Terrace in Anna

 

Gary L. Taborn (DOB 11-04-1982) of 203 West George Street in Anna

 

Tina M. Barlow (DOB 1-19-1987) of 203 West George Street in Anna

 

Crunk is charged with one (1) count of Conspiracy to Participate in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a Class X Felony, one (1) count of Participation in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a Class 1 Felony, and one (1) count of Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Waste, a Class 2 Felony.  Crunk is alleged to have purchased pseudoephedrine pills on forty (40) separate occasions since March of 2010 for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.  Crunk was charged following investigation of a house fire on March 11, 2012 at his Anna residence.

 

Brimm is charged with two (2) counts of Participation in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, both Class 1 Felonies.  Farris and Taborn are each charged with one (1) count of Participation in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a Class 1 Felony.  Brimm is alleged to have produced methamphetamine on separate occasions during March 2012 with both Taborn and Farris.

 

Barlow is charged with one (1) count of Conspiracy to Participate in the Manufacture of Methamphetamine, a Class 1 Felony.  She is alleged to have purchased pseudoephedrine pills and lithium batteries on multiple occasions since July of 2011 for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.

 

Each of the five defendants is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro.

 

Charges follow an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office/Union County Drug Task Force with assistance from the Illinois State Fire Marshal and Anna Police.

 

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
