GAZETTE – Convicted on heroin charge

A Cobden man has been sentenced in United States District Court in Benton on a one-count indictment charging him with conspiracy to distribute heroin, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, reported.

Roberto Alaniz, also known as “Berto,” 28, of Cobden, was sentenced to 37 months in prison, placed on three years of supervised release and was fined $300.
