Olive Branch Woman Pleads Guilty to Filing False Sexual Assault Report Against State Police Officers

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Dea Ann Thompson (DOB 09-24-1967) of 27264 Miller City Road in Olive Branch has pleaded guilty to filing a false police report which accused Illinois State Police officers of sexually assaulting her in February 2012 during the course of an ISP investigation.  Thompson pleaded guilty today at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro to one count of Disorderly Conduct, a Class 4 Felony.  Thompson was sentenced to eighteen (18) months probation, fines and costs, time served in the county jail, public service work and substance abuse and mental health treatment.

 The sexual assault allegation was investigated by the Illinois State Police Division of Internal Investigation and Union County Sheriff’s Office.  Thompson was indicted by a Union County Grand Jury in February 2012 after the investigation showed Thompson fabricated the incident and knew the allegation to be false.
