Two Cobden Residents Charged with Methamphetamine Production

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that John R. Robinson (DOB 10/19/1966) and Judith R. Robinson (DOB 01/15/1966), both of 100 Walnut Street, Apt 161, Cobden, Illinois, have been charged with one (1) count of Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a Class X Felony, one (1) count of Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials, a Class 2 Felony, and one (1) count of Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Waste, a Class 2 Felony.  The two are alleged to have engaged in the manufacture of more than 15 grams of methamphetamine in rural Union County between March and September of 2012.

Both were arrested on September 25, 2012 by Union County Sheriff Deputies and are being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $250,000 bond.

The UnionCountyState’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
