Two Rural Anna Residents Charged with Methamphetamine Production

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jason B. Stanton (DOB 06/24/1970) and Brandy L. Stanton (DOB 03/01/1980), both of 35 Wright Lane in rural Anna, have been charged with one (1) count of Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a Class X Felony, one count of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class X Felony, one (1) count of Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Waste, a Class 2 Felony, one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Cannabis Plants, a Class A Misdemeanor.  The two are alleged to have engaged in the manufacture of more than 400 grams of methamphetamine in rural Union County in September of 2012.  Both were arrested on September 26, 2012 by Illinois State Police.

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
