Anna Man Indicted on Drug Induced Homicide Charges

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today the Union County Grand Jury has returned indictments against David M. Olshon (DOB 07-02-1958) of 324 South Main Street in Anna in connection with the death of Jami Restivo in January 2012.  Olshon is charged with one (1) count of Drug Induced Homicide, a Class X Felony, one (1) count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class 1 Felony and one (1) count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class 3 Felony.

Jami Restivo was found dead at Olshon’s residence on January 11, 2012.  Olshon was indicted by the Union County Grand Jury following an extensive investigation by Illinois State Police.  Olshon is alleged to have provided controlled substances to Jami Restivo in the days prior to her death.

David Olshon was taken in to custody on December 11, 2012 by Illinois State Police.  Olshon is being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $250,000 bond and is set for First Appearance on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
