Rural Anna Man Sentenced to 6 Years on Methamphetamine Charge

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jason B. Stanton (DOB 06/24/1970) formerly of 35 Wright Lane in rural Anna has been sentenced to six (6) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a Class 1 Felony.  Stanton was arrested on September 26, 2012 as a search warrant was executed by the Illinois State Police.

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
