Five Sentenced to Department of Corrections

Five Sentenced to Department of Corrections

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced the following sentences to the Illinois Department of Corrections:

Johnnie L. Morse (DOB 09/22/1982) of 214 Washington Street in Anna has been sentenced to ten (10) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to two counts in connection with the sexual assault of an Anna woman.  Morse was sentenced after pleading guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class X Felony and Unlawful Restraint, a Class 4 Felony.  Morse will be required to register as a sex offender for life and will be subject to a Mandatory Supervised Release term (formerly parole) of three (3) years to life as determined by the Illinois Department of Corrections. Morse was arrested in May of 2013 following an investigation by Anna Police.

Christopher L. McCoy (DOB 07/25/1986) of Beaver Dam, Kentucky has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Aggravated Battery, a Class 2 Felony.  McCoy was charged after striking a Union County Sheriff’s Deputy while in a Union County Courthouse holding cell.

Snyder B. Herrin (DOB 12/23/1958) of Hurst, Illinois has been sentenced to six (6) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance, a Class 1 Felony.  Herrin was arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 57 in February of 2014 by Illinois State Police.

Joshua R. Mixen (DOB 01/14/1983) of 102 South John Street in Jonesboro has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, a Class 2 Felony.  Mixen was arrested in February of 2013 as part of an investigation by Jonesboro Police.

Robert D. Lence (DOB 09/18/1971) of 180 East Wall Street, Ullin, Illinois has been sentenced to eighteen (18) months in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Unlawful Presence within a School Zone by a Sex Offender, a Class 4 Felony.  Lence was arrested in April of 2014 following an investigation by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies after receiving complaints that a child sex offender was on school property in Dongola.

Bryant J. Nolan (DOB 12/19/1987) of 105 Bridge Street in Mill Creek has been sentenced to thirty (30) months in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Unlawful Purchase of Methamphetamine Precursor, a Class 4 Felony.  Nolan was arrested in May of 2014 following an investigation by the Illinois State Police.
