Five Sentenced to Department of Corrections

Five Sentenced to Department of Corrections 

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced the following sentences to the Illinois Department of Corrections:

Wayne D. Synek, Jr. (DOB 5/7/1982) of Jonesboro has been sentenced to seven (7) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors, a Class 2 Felony and one (1) count of Disarming a Peace Officer, a Class 2 Felony.  Synek was arrested in May 2014 following a traffic stop on US Route 51 North.  After stopping his vehicle, Synek fled on foot from a Union County Sheriff’s Deputy.  He subsequently struggled with the Deputy and attempted to disarm the Deputy of his taser.  At the time of his arrest, Synek was found to be in the possession of pills, containing pseudoephedrine, a key ingredient in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

Brandy S. Yancey (DOB 11/13/1977) of Cobden has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one (1) count of Retail Theft, a Class 4 Felony and admitting a Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Burglary, a Class 2 Felony.  Yancey was arrested and charged with Retail Theft in August 2014 as part of an investigation by Cobden Police.  Yancey took several items of merchandise from a Cobden business.  The items were subsequently recovered from her residence.  She had previously been sentenced to probation on the Burglary charge following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Jenny D. Spurlock (DOB 1/13/1983) of Jonesboro has been sentenced to four (4) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a recommendation of Impact Incarceration after admitting a Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, a Class 1 Felony.  Spurlock was arrested on the initial charge in September 2013 as part of an investigation by the Union County Sheriff Office.

Frankie L. Fowler (DOB 5/1/1973) of Anna has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Petition to Revoke Probation for the original offense of Methamphetamine Delivery, a Class 2 Felony.  Fowler was arrested on the initial charge in August 2013 as part of an investigation by the Union County Sheriff Office.

Keana Rodriguez (DOB 1/12/1995) of Anna Illinois has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a recommendation of Impact Incarceration after pleading guilty to one (1) count of Aggravated Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence, a Class 4 Felony.  Rodriguez was involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in bodily harm to a child.  Rodriguez was arrested in June 2014 by Anna Police.
