Two Men Charged with Burglary of Business

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Floyd E. Burton (DOB 1/1/1988) of Jonesboro and Stephen R. Bean (DOB 8/7/1992) of Anna have each been indicted by the Union County Grand Jury on one (1) count of Burglary, a Class 2 Felony, one (1) count of Criminal Damage to Property, a Class 4 Felony and one (1) count of Theft, a Class A Misdemeanor.  The two were arrested following a Jonesboro Police investigation regarding the burglary of the Jonesboro Onestop in the early morning hours of January 31, 2015.  The Union County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police Crime Scene assisted with the investigation.  Both men are being held in the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro.  Burton is being held on a $50,000.00 bond and Bean is being held on a $20,000.00 bond.

The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
