Anna Woman Sentenced to Prison for Aggravated Identity Theft

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Janice A. Dover (DOB 8/4/1976) of 214 Washington Street in Anna has been sentenced to four (4) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to two (2) counts of Aggravated Identity Theft, both Class 2 Felonies.

Dover pleaded guilty to taking possession of checks belonging to an Anna man and a rural Union County man, both over the age of 60, with the intent to illegally withdraw funds from the checking accounts.  The offenses occurred between November 2014 and February 2015.  Dover was arrested in February 2015 following investigations by the Anna Police and Union County Sheriff’s Office.
