Jefferson County Man Sentenced to 10 years for Armed Robbery of Jonesboro Nursing Home

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Adam J. Trax (DOB 1012/14/1982) formerly of 20620 Lucky Lane, Bluford, Illinois has been sentenced to ten (10) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one (1) count of Armed Robbery, a Class X Felony.  Investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office showed that in the early morning hours of June 10, 2013, Trax, while armed with a knife, entered the front door of the Jonesboro Rehabilitation Center & Healthcare Center, located at 995 State Route 127 South outside Jonesboro, and instructed employees to open locked containers of prescription narcotics.  Trax left the facility with nearly $900 worth of narcotics.

Trax was indicted by a Union County Grand Jury in September of 2013 and extradited from Pennsylvania in May of 2015 by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
