Jonesboro Man Sentenced to Prison for Domestic Battery

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Coy B. Thomas (DOB 12/19/1983) of 313 Willard Ferry Road in Jonesboro has been sentenced to four (4) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (“IDOC”) after pleading guilty to one (1) count of Domestic Battery, a Class 4 Felony.  Upon release from IDOC, Thomas will serve a four (4) year period of Mandatory Supervised Release, formerly known as Parole.  Thomas was sentenced to an extended term on the Class 4 Felony based on prior criminal history.  Thomas was arrested in September 2014 by Jonesboro Police with assistance from the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Marion Police.
