Two Sentenced to Prison for Jonesboro Home Invasion

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Brooke T. Stanton (DOB 11/09/1995) of Anna and Devin James Salyers (DOB 06/21/1996) of Anna have both pleaded guilty for their roles in a December 2016 home invasion and robbery in Jonesboro.  Stanton was sentenced to fourteen (14) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to one (1) count of Home Invasion, a Class X Felony and will serve three (3) years of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as Parole).  Salyers was sentenced to ten (10) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and three (3) years of Mandatory Supervised Release, on one (1) count of Home Invasion, a Class X Felony.

A third person remains in juvenile detention and is charged with Home Invasion and Armed Robbery.

The case was investigated by the Jonesboro Police Department with assistance from the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police Division of Forensic Services.  Two Rivers Child Advocacy Center in Anna facilitated interview of the minor victim.
