Carbondale Man Sentenced to Prison for Burglary

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds, acting as special prosecutor in Jackson County, announced today that Dayshawn Michael Holmes (DOB 04/01/1997) of Carbondale, Illinois has been sentenced in the Circuit Court of Jackson County to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Burglary, a Class 2 Felony.  Holmes will also serve a two (2) year period of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as Parole).

Holmes was arrested in July 2017 following an investigation by Carbondale Police.  Holmes burglarized a vehicle in the 800 block of West Main Street in Carbondale.
