The police chiefs, sheriffs, and state’s attorneys held meetings with Governor JB Pritzker, Senate Minority Leader Bill Brady, House Minority Leader Jim Durkin, and dozens of state legislators to advocate for programs that get children off to a good start in life, and help get troubled children back on track. These programs, including quality preschool and child care, home visiting, afterschool, and anti-recidivism programs, are proven to significantly reduce crime.
