<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Three Sentenced to Prison</span></strong></p>
<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that the following individuals have been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections:</p>
<p><strong>Valco D. Penn</strong> (DOB 10/21/1978) of Little Rock, Arkansas has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Identity Theft, a Class 2 Felony.  Penn is alleged to have used a credit card belonging to an Anna man to fraudulently obtain various items from Wal-Mart.</p>
<p><strong>Mason D. Kurtz</strong> (DOB 4/2/1987) of Mound City, Illinois has been sentenced to four (4) years and two (2) months in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Aggravated Domestic Battery, a Class 2 Felony.  Kurtz is alleged to have caused great bodily harm to a Goreville woman he was living with.</p>
<p><strong>David M. Olshon</strong> (DOB 7/2/1958) of Anna, Illinois has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Involuntary Manslaughter, a Class 3 Felony.  After a thorough investigation by the Illinois State Police, Olshon is alleged to have allowed an Anna Woman to ingest heroin and buprenorphine causing her death.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Cobden Man Sentenced to 8 Years for Burglary</span></strong></p>
<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Charles F. Yates (DOB 04-05-1969) of 5875 Water Valley Road in rural Cobden has been sentenced to eight (8) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Burglary, a Class 2 Felony.  Yates took several metal items from a machine shed on Water Valley road in March 2013.  He was arrested following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.</p>

<p>April 24, 2013</p>
<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Alto Pass Man Convicted of Methamphetamine Production</span></strong></p>
<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that a jury has found John A. Gleghorn (DOB 01-24-1957), formerly of 3200 Bald Knob Road in rural Alto Pass, guilty of one (1) count of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a Class X Felony.  The verdict was delivered today following a two and a half day trial.  The charge carries a penalty of fifteen (15) to sixty (60) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.  A sentencing hearing has been set for June 18, 2013 before Presiding Judge Mark Boie.  Gleghorn is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro without bond.</p>
<p>Gleghorn, acting together with Billy J. Finney (DOB 11-5-1976), engaged in the manufacture of methamphetamine at a residence at 3200 Bald Knob Road in February, March and April of 2012.  Gleghorn and Finney were indicted by a Union County Grand Jury in May of 2012 following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office, Murphysboro Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.  The Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team also assisted with the investigation.  Finney pleaded guilty in December 2012.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Jonesboro Man Sentenced to 10 years on Cocaine and Firearm Charges</span></strong></p>
<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Heath P. Tellor (DOB 09/30/1985) of 300 Mary Street in Jonesboro has been sentenced to ten (10) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, a Class 1 Felony and one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Weapon by a Felon, a Class 2 Felony.  Tellor was arrested by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies in October 2012 at a residence in rural Dongola.  At the time of his arrest, Tellor was in possession of a firearm and a quantity of cocaine which was packaged for delivery.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Elco Man Sentenced to 18 years for Home Invasion</span></strong></p>
<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Jeremy Westmoreland (DOB 06-09-1988) of Elco has been sentenced to eighteen (18) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Home Invasion, a Class X Felony.  In April 2012 Westmoreland, acting with another individual, entered a residence in rural Union County while armed with a knife.  Westmoreland threatened the property owner and took a number of items from the home.  Westmoreland was arrested in July 2012 following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.</p>

<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today the Union County Grand Jury has returned indictments on the following individuals:</p>
<p><strong>Clint W. Hileman</strong> (DOB 09/06/1994) of Jonesboro, Illinois, <strong>Damian B. Martin </strong>(DOB 06/06/1995) of Anna, Illinois, <strong>Bruel N. Miller </strong>(DOB 11/11/1993) of Jonesboro, Illinois, and <strong>James A. Davis</strong> (DOB 09/04/1994) of Jonesboro, Illinois are charged with two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery, both Class 3 Felonies and one (1) count of Mob Action, a Class 4 Felony.  The indictments follow an investigation by the Anna Police Department.</p>
<p><strong>Johnny L. Eubanks</strong> (DOB 01/26/1983) of Jonesboro, Illinois is charged with one (1) count of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a Class X Felony, one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class X Felony, and five (5) counts of Unlawful Purchase of Methamphetamine Precursor, all Class 4 Felonies.  Eubanks is currently held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $550,000 bond.  Eubanks was charged following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Jonesboro Police Department.</p>
<p><strong>Jason A. Ward</strong> (DOB 06/21/1983) of Ava, Illinois is charged with one (1) count of Residential Burglary, a Class 1 Felony. Cobden Police and Union County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Ward the evening of March 26, 2013 at a home on Wing Hill Road in rural Cobden after a 911 call was placed from the residence.  Ward is currently held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $300,000 bond.</p>
<p><strong>Ryan L. Cochran</strong> (DOB 02/02/1993) of Dongola, Illinois is charged with one (1) count of Residential Burglary, a Class 1 Felony and one (1) count of Possession of Burglary Tools, a Class 4 Felony. Cochran is currently held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $30,000 bond.  <strong>Jaimie T. Pugh</strong> (DOB 06/03/1993) of Jonesboro, Illinois is charged with one (1) count of Residential Burglary, a Class 1 Felony in connection with Cochran. Pugh is currently held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro on $15,000 bond.  Both were arrested by Anna Police in the early morning hours of March 28, 2013 at a residence on Warren Street.</p>
<p><strong>Amber N. Nimmo</strong> (DOB 03/18/1983) of Dongola, Illinois, and <strong>Jeremy M. Bennett</strong> (DOB 04/21/1986) are charged with one (1) count of Theft, a Class 3 Felony and one (1) count of Money Laundering, a Class 3 Felony.  Nimmo and Bennett were charged following an investigation by the Jonesboro Police Department.</p>
<p><strong>The Union County State’s Attorney’s Office reminds the public that charges are not evidence of guilt.  A defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial in which the government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.</strong></p>

<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that the following individuals have been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections:</p>
<p><strong>Aubrey W. Beene</strong> (DOB 07/18/1978) of Cobden, Illinois has been sentenced to ten (10) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Unlawful Participation in Methamphetamine Production, a Class X Felony.  Beene was arrested on February 5, 2013 as Union County Sheriff’s Deputies served a search warrant at his residence at 130 Hughey Lane in rural Cobden.</p>
<p><strong>Brian A. Taylor</strong> (DOB 07/25/1974) of Marble Hill, Missouri has been sentenced to three (3) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Solicitation, a Class 3 Felony.  Taylor was arrested in May 2012 after a Union County Sheriff’s Office investigation showed that he had transported a developmentally disabled man to an Anna retailer and persuaded the man to purchase pseudoephedrine pills.  Taylor intended to use the pills for the manufacture of methamphetamine.</p>
<p><strong>Melissa L. Dawson</strong> (DOB 01/07/1973) of Jonesboro, Illinois has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Conspiracy to Participate in Methamphetamine Production, a Class 1 Felony.  Dawson was arrested in October 2012 following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.</p>
<p><strong>Jesus R. Aguirre</strong> (DOB 04/28/1969) has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a Class 1 Felony and one (1) count of Aggravated Driving a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Class 2 Felony.  Aguirre was arrested on suspicion of DUI in January 2013 by Union County Sheriff’s Deputies.  He was subsequently found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine.</p>
<p><strong>Dustin R. Haynes</strong> (DOB 10/22/1995) of Wolf Lake, Illinois has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 Felony and five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on one (1) count of Burglary, a Class 2 Felony.  The sentences will run concurrently and the defendant is eligible for the impact incarceration program.</p>

<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Murphysboro Man Sentenced to 5 Years for </span></strong></p>
<p align="center"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol</span></strong></p>
<p>Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced today that Angel L. Guajardo (DOB 05/25/1978) formerly of 803 Mulberry St, Murphysboro, Illinois, has been sentenced to five (5) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after a plea of guilty on one (1) count of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Class 2 Felony.  Guajardo was arrested for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol on February 18, 2013 after a traffic stop of his vehicle was initiated by the Anna Police Department.</p>
