State’s Attorney – Tyler Edmonds
Tyler R. Edmonds was elected to a four-year term as Union County State’s Attorney in November 2008. Tyler, a fifth-generation Union County native, grew up in Union County and graduated as co-valedictorian of his class at Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. Tyler worked his way through college attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduating with a degree in political science and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He then earned his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School where he served as editor-in-chief of the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law. Prior to being elected State’s Attorney, Tyler was in private practice with the Illinois based law firm Mayer Brown LLP focusing on state and local government law and civil litigation.
Tyler resides in Anna. He serves on the Board of Directors of Rural Health, a not-for-profit health care provider serving the people of Southern Illinois. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Hospitality House in Vienna, a not-for-profit entity providing low cost lodging for families visiting prisoners housed in Southern Illinois correctional facilities.
